Pores & scars
Pores & scars
Pore and acne scar treatments depend on shape, depth and active inflammation. We compare microneedling, RF and laser for your skin, with the goal of making scars less noticeable.
AT A GLANCE
Before you consider treatment.
- Inflammation & scars
- Separate active acne from existing scars. Controlling inflammation may come first to reduce new scarring.
- Microneedling & laser
- Microneedling uses fine needles; lasers use light. RF microneedling adds heat, so these are not interchangeable procedures.
- Recovery & risks
- Beyond infection and pigment changes, burns, scars, fat loss and nerve injury have been reported with some RF microneedling uses. Review benefits and risks of the chosen method.
INDICATION
We begin with these concerns.
- Texture with prominent pores
- Indented scars left by acne

OUR APPROACH
What NUA assesses first.
We do not apply the same treatment to every face. We review your condition and expectations, and the doctor decides the final plan.
- 01Scar shape and depth
- 02Presence of active acne
- 03Skin tone and pigmentation history
- 04Available recovery time
Videos with explanations from our doctor will be added when ready.
PRINCIPLE
How do we approach it?
Scars and pores have different causes. We compare remodeling approaches such as microneedling and laser, adapting treatment to scar type.
BEFORE TREATMENT
What to check first.
We check active infection or inflammation, scarring tendency and medications.
Infection, scarring or lasting color changes can occur. Check the treatment type and aftercare.
Individual contraindications and suitability are assessed during consultation.
AFTERCARE
From treatment to everyday life.
- Pain
- Pain varies with depth and area; options such as local pain control are discussed.
- Recovery
- Redness, swelling and peeling may occur. Follow individual advice for skin barrier recovery and sun protection.
- Effects & duration
- Changes are assessed after allowing the skin to heal. Frequency and spacing are adjusted to scar type and response.
What to watch for day to day
- Tell us about recent acne medication, poor wound healing and scarring tendency.
- Do not scrub or pick peeling skin during healing. Follow instructions for washing, makeup and sun protection.
Questions before your consultation.
01Can pores be completely removed?
The goal is not to eliminate pores themselves. We discuss how much their visibility and texture may improve.
02Should scars be treated first if acne is still active?
We distinguish active inflammation from scars. Controlling current acne may take priority.
03Do Potenza and fractional laser work the same way?
RF microneedling and laser deliver energy differently. Compare tips, modes and recovery burden.
04Can scars be erased completely?
Complete removal cannot be guaranteed. We discuss achievable changes in visibility and texture for each scar type.
05Is one session enough to judge the outcome?
Tissue needs time to heal and multiple sessions may be discussed. Immediate photos alone cannot show the final outcome.
06What are RF microneedling risks?
Check for burns, scars and sensory changes as well as redness or swelling. Tell the medical team if discomfort persists.
07What health information should I share in advance?
We check active infection or inflammation, scarring tendency and medications. Infection, scarring or lasting color changes can occur. Check the treatment type and aftercare.
08How do we discuss pain management?
Pain varies with depth and area; options such as local pain control are discussed.
