Acne care
Acne
Acne care combines medication, procedures and daily care based on inflammation and skin condition. Lasers or light alone cannot address every acne type; marks and scars are assessed separately.
AT A GLANCE
Before you consider treatment.
- Different types, different approaches
- Comedones, inflammatory lesions and deep nodules cannot all be treated with one device or approach. Identify current lesions first.
- Medication & procedures
- Laser or light may be one part of the plan. We also assess whether topical medicines or other treatment are needed.
- Care that limits irritation
- Harsh scrubs or frequent product changes can irritate skin. Cleanse gently and follow the agreed plan.
INDICATION
We begin with these concerns.
- Recurring acne and inflammation
- Distinguishing current acne from remaining marks

OUR APPROACH
What NUA assesses first.
We do not apply the same treatment to every face. We review your condition and expectations, and the doctor decides the final plan.
- 01Type and extent of inflammation
- 02Current medicines and skin care products
- 03Response to past treatment
- 04Scars and pigmentation changes
Videos with explanations from our doctor will be added when ready.
PRINCIPLE
How do we approach it?
Acne care depends on skin condition. Laser or light therapy may form part of the plan, alongside medication and skin care when needed.
BEFORE TREATMENT
What to check first.
Tell us about acne medication, recent procedures and skin sensitivity.
Laser and light therapy can cause redness, swelling, burns or pigment changes, so technique and intensity are individualized.
Individual contraindications and suitability are assessed during consultation.
AFTERCARE
From treatment to everyday life.
- Pain
- Some treatments cause stinging or heat. Discuss discomfort and pain control beforehand.
- Recovery
- Redness and irritation vary with treatment. Avoid irritating the skin and follow aftercare instructions.
- Effects & duration
- One session does not clear all acne. Session counts and future care are adjusted to your skin's response.
What to watch for day to day
- Do not squeeze acne yourself or repeatedly touch it.
- Share medicines and cosmetics you use. Adjust prescriptions and care during treatment only with medical guidance.
Questions before your consultation.
01Will laser alone clear acne?
Laser alone may not be enough. We assess inflammation and discuss medication and care together.
02Can I discuss acne and scars together?
Yes. We assess active inflammation and existing scars separately, then decide the treatment sequence.
03Is NeoBeam or AGNES alone enough?
One procedure does not suit every acne type. We assess lesions and previous medication response to select care.
04Will frequent washing and exfoliation help?
Excessive washing and scrubbing may irritate skin. Gentle cleansing and less irritating care are needed.
05Are acne marks and indented scars treated the same?
Color changes and indentations are assessed separately. They may need a plan distinct from active acne treatment.
06Can I stop care as soon as it improves?
Review your skin and response before deciding next steps. Discuss maintenance rather than stopping medicine on your own.
07What health information should I share in advance?
Tell us about acne medication, recent procedures and skin sensitivity. Laser and light therapy can cause redness, swelling, burns or pigment changes, so technique and intensity are individualized.
08How do we discuss pain management?
Some treatments cause stinging or heat. Discuss discomfort and pain control beforehand.
