Filler
Dermal fillers
Fillers adjust volume and contour through injections. The plan varies by ingredients and area; existing material and overall proportions are assessed first.
AT A GLANCE
Before you consider treatment.
- Changes depend on the product
- Some products show volume immediately; others are assessed over time. No single duration applies to every product.
- Early swelling & results
- Final shape is difficult to judge before swelling and bruising settle. Agree on important event dates and follow-up timing together.
- Vascular risks
- Filler entering a blood vessel can cause serious complications, including skin damage or vision problems. Even rare risks need explanation.
INDICATION
We begin with these concerns.
- Hollowing caused by volume loss
- Concerns about facial proportions and contours

OUR APPROACH
What NUA assesses first.
We do not apply the same treatment to every face. We review your condition and expectations, and the doctor decides the final plan.
- 01Overall facial proportions
- 02Type and location of previous injectables
- 03Skin and soft-tissue condition
- 04Extent of the desired change
Videos with explanations from our doctor will be added when ready.
PRINCIPLE
How do we approach it?
Fillers adjust volume and contour by injecting material into tissue. Products must be selected for their ingredients and appropriate treatment areas.
BEFORE TREATMENT
What to check first.
We check past injectables, allergies, infections and medications.
Alongside swelling, bruising, nodules and infection, serious vascular complications must be discussed. Tell the medical team immediately if severe pain or vision changes occur afterward.
Individual contraindications and suitability are assessed during consultation.
AFTERCARE
From treatment to everyday life.
- Pain
- Stinging and pressure may occur at the injection site. Pain control is discussed for the area.
- Recovery
- Final shape is difficult to judge before swelling and bruising settle. Allow enough time in your schedule.
- Effects & duration
- Duration varies by product, area and individual condition. Before adding more, we assess remaining product and facial balance.
What to watch for day to day
- Seek immediate help from the medical team or emergency services for sudden severe pain, pale or abnormally changing skin, or vision changes.
- Massage advice depends on the product. Do not press or massage forcefully yourself; follow individual instructions.
Questions before your consultation.
01Is more filler better?
Harmony with the whole face matters more than volume alone. NUA's approach is to avoid excessive treatment and doses.
02What if I already have filler from another clinic?
Please share the product name, area and timing if known. Existing material may need assessment first.
03Can every filler be dissolved and reversed?
No. Removal and correction depend on the ingredient and product, and may be difficult or impossible. Confirm the product and response options before treatment.
04Can I add more while still swollen?
Distinguish early swelling from true volume before deciding. Do not add more based only on a desired shape before follow-up.
05Is massage always needed after fillers?
Aftercare differs by product. One massage method does not apply to all fillers.
06How do fillers differ from collagen-related injections?
Ingredients, how changes occur and assessment timing may differ. NUA distinguishes other injectable options discussed alongside fillers.
07What health information should I share in advance?
We check past injectables, allergies, infections and medications. Alongside swelling, bruising, nodules and infection, serious vascular complications must be discussed. Tell the medical team immediately if severe pain or vision changes occur afterward.
08How do we discuss pain management?
Stinging and pressure may occur at the injection site. Pain control is discussed for the area.
